"I was asked to design and build an addition to an existing tree house on an Island at Pine Lake. My good friend was told the harsh reality... no. Not unless I can knock down what is there and start from scratch. He agreed and I went to work.

Instead of a structure tied to the trees, it sits on posts (solid ground) and fits between the trees. I wanted a nice place for his daughter but also to be standing for his grandkids to use. We repositioned the steps for a side entry and reused the slide in a conspicuous tree house fast-exit location.

The interior stayed rustic in appearance but functional as well. The exterior is Weatherproof, of course, with Foundry shake, BP Shingles, custom trim and covered entry.

Although I liked this project and am proud of the product, I would rather be invited back to fish this year."
